1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Carebind mobile application (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Carebind. By using the App, you confirm you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

2. What Carebind Is

Carebind is a family caregiver coordination application. It provides:

Medication scheduling and tracking
Shared care calendars and appointment management
Family task coordination and assignment
Care notes and health journaling
Family group chat and communication
Care recipient profile management
Family circle role management

Carebind is NOT a medical device, medical service, or healthcare provider. The App does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

You must create an account to use Carebind. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update it as necessary.

3.2 Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately at support@carebind.app if you suspect unauthorised access.

3.3 One account per person

Each person may maintain only one Carebind account. You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits.

4. Care Circles and Roles

4.1 Primary Caregiver

When you create a care circle, you become the Primary Caregiver with full administrative control. There can be only one Primary Caregiver per care circle at any time, enforced at the database level.

4.2 Member roles

Primary Caregiver: full access including circle management and medication administration
Helper: can log medications, add care notes, create tasks, and use family chat
Viewer: read-only access to care information and family chat
Medical Viewer: restricted access to clinical information only

4.3 Invitations

Invite links are single-use and time-limited. You are responsible for ensuring only appropriate, trusted individuals are invited to your care circle.

4.4 Leaving a circle

Helper, Viewer, and Medical Viewer members may leave at any time. The Primary Caregiver must transfer ownership before leaving. Your historical contributions remain in the circle after you leave.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

Use the App to provide false or inaccurate medical information
Use the App as a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment
Share your account with anyone outside your care circle
Attempt to access another family's care circle without authorisation
Harass, abuse, or harm any person through the App
Reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App
Use the App in violation of any applicable law or regulation
Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content

6. Important Medical Disclaimer

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Carebind is NOT a medical device or healthcare service. The App is a family coordination and communication tool only.

The App does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations
The App does not replace consultation with qualified healthcare professionals
The App does not verify the accuracy of medication information entered by users
The App does not guarantee medications will be administered correctly or on time
Medication tracking depends entirely on users manually confirming doses

In a medical emergency, call your local emergency services immediately. Do not rely on this App in an emergency.

7. Subscription and Payments

7.1 Free plan

The Free plan is available at no cost and includes: 1 care recipient, up to 3 family members, full medication tracking, 30-day chat history, and access to all core features.

7.2 Pro plan

The Pro plan is available as a monthly (£12/month) or annual (£99/year) subscription. It includes: 2 care recipients, up to 6 family members, unlimited chat history, and priority notifications.

7.3 Billing and renewal

Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

7.4 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.

7.5 Plan changes

If you downgrade from Pro to Free and have more data than the Free plan allows (e.g. 2 care recipients), you will retain read-only access to the additional data but cannot add new data until within Free plan limits.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at https://carebind.app/privacy. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

You own the data you enter into Carebind. We do not claim ownership of your family's care information. By using the App, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your data solely to provide the service.

9. Intellectual Property

The Carebind app, including its design, code, features, and content created by us, is owned by Carebind and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our App without our written permission.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Carebind shall not be liable for:

Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
Loss of data, medication errors, or missed appointments resulting from App failure or user error
Damages arising from reliance on the App for medical decisions
Any damages exceeding the amount you paid for the App in the last 12 months

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, without notice. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon termination, your access to the App will be immediately revoked and your data will be deleted within 30 days as per our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the applicable jurisdiction.
