Getting Started

How do I create an account?

Download Carebind from the App Store or Google Play. Tap "Get Started" and follow the setup wizard. You'll create your profile, add your care recipient, and invite family members — all in under 3 minutes.

How do I invite family members?

Go to Settings → Family Members → Invite. You can send an invite link via WhatsApp, SMS, or email. When they tap the link, they'll be guided to download the app and join your care circle automatically.

Is Carebind really free?

Yes! The free plan includes up to 2 care recipients, up to 3 family members, full medication tracking, family chat (30 days), calendar, tasks, and care notes. No credit card required, free forever.

Medication Tracking

How do I add a medication?

Go to Medications → Add New. Enter the medication name, dosage, frequency, and scheduled times. You can also add notes (e.g., "take with food").

How do I confirm a medication has been given?

When a medication is due, you'll see it on your dashboard. Tap the medication card and press "Confirm Given." This notifies all family members instantly.

What if a medication is overdue?

If a medication hasn't been confirmed within 30 minutes of its scheduled time, Carebind will send a reminder to all family members. The medication will show as "overdue" with an amber warning on the dashboard.

Can I set up medications that are only taken on certain days?

Yes! When adding a medication, choose "Custom Schedule" and select which days of the week the medication should be taken.

Family Coordination

Can family members have different roles?

Yes. There are three roles: Primary Caregiver (full access, can manage settings), Helper (can confirm medications, complete tasks, chat), and Viewer (read-only access for distant family members who want to stay informed).

How does the family chat work?

The family chat is a private group chat for your care circle. It automatically posts care updates (medication confirmations, task completions, appointment reminders) so everyone stays informed without extra effort.

Account & Billing

How do I upgrade to Pro?

Go to Settings → Subscription → Upgrade. Choose monthly (£12/month) or annual (£99/year, save 31%). Your 30-day free trial starts immediately.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to Settings → Subscription → Cancel. Your Pro features will remain active until the end of your current billing period. You'll then revert to the free plan (no data is lost).

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This will permanently delete all your data within 30 days. This action cannot be undone. If you're the primary caregiver, you'll need to transfer that role first or the entire care circle will be deleted.

Troubleshooting

I'm not receiving notifications

  • Check that notifications are enabled in your phone's Settings → Carebind
  • Ensure Do Not Disturb is disabled or Carebind is set as a priority app
  • On Android: check that battery optimisation is disabled for Carebind
  • Try signing out and back in

The app is crashing or slow

  • Ensure you're running the latest version from the App Store/Google Play
  • Try closing and reopening the app
  • Restart your device
  • If the problem persists, email bugs@carebind.app

I can't join a family invite link

  • Check that the link hasn't expired (links are valid for 7 days)
  • Ask the person who invited you to send a new link
  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection
